needed a new one as the rubber "switch" was all gummy and filthy. as many reviewers have noted, it's made by grohe, even though it's all plastic. my original was plastic too, but seemed a bit heavier. mine was 15 years old. they changed something to make it more "universal" i think. I installed the white cartridge. it leaked from the "thread" connection. so I bought o-rings until I found one that seemed to fit the threaded portion of the pipe. hand tight and it stopped leaking. check regularly if it is leaking or it runs through the pipe under the sink and you will not see it leaking from above and you will have a mess under your sink. grohe and or bath1. should actually include a new o-ring with these or some instructions. what's in the box is useless. the only reason I'm not giving it a star is because it works well once you stop leaking. it might be worth considering a brand new setup if that doesn't hold up. some companies make better units these days.

it is an original grohe product. for my use -- replace an outdated product. I kept the original feeding tube. if one were to replace the stock supply pipe (~$45), it would probably fit just fine. anyway, it works well after following the opinions of others who also had to adapt. I used the o-ring from an unused current limiter that came in the package; 2 different flow restrictors are included. (see review by mr. furukawa on July 9, 2013.) it would be helpful if grohe provided actual instructions to consumers. the box with the spray contained 2 current limiters and an assembly drawing for mechanical parts... a very small drawing (ie: too small to read) no written instructions. I understand that grohe generally supplies plumbers and professionals who "know exactly how"; but since they sell to consumers, a small piece of paper with step-by-step instructions would be helpful. they may also include an o-ring for replacement fittings. written instructions and an o-ring - would raise this to a 5 star rating.

my spare grohe spray head works like a charm. however, I can't figure out how much the 'o' ring I ended up needing only cost me $2.59 for a pack of (10) rings in the home depot. grohe wanted $20 for (1) ''o''. the bath1 company cooperated and charged $5.00 for the o-ring that should have been in the package to begin with. i know we all have to earn a decent income, but it was so revealing about the times we live in. such greed!!

I ordered this to replace a broken faucet on a faucet that was about 12 years old. i couldn't believe this was a perfect match with the one i had. sent a photo to grohe. they suggested this item fit, and when i thought the price was too high they suggested to check bath1. there it was at a much better price, delivered quickly (grohe would take 2 weeks) and fitted perfectly with very little installation. I am really happy and satisfied with the result.

this was bought to replace a 20 year old spray head that had deteriorated - and it is perfect. easy to install plastic with chrome finish and better spraying mechanism than the original. ***an "o" seal is included so no need to buy it separately as i was instructed by grohe customer service who gave me the part numbers. now i have an expensive and extra "o" ring.....but hey. the spray head is exactly as pictured

this product is a little hard to find as the base unit has been discontinued. i am so glad i found it. I have limited space between the top of my countertop and the bottom of the cabinets above it so with this replacement I can rest easy knowing I have the part in case something goes wrong in the future. the item arrived in a very short time and there was no defect in the packaging. thanks for the fast and efficient service.
